The AMA to San Francisco in 2018, I think we'll stay away.

America is in trouble. We've been in trouble for a long time. We lost the War on Drugs. We lost the war on decency. Its weird just how good we look on the outside. But now the outside is starting to slide.

I'm the last one to throw stones. It's not San Francisco, it's us. We are in trouble. We need help.

It used to be somebody else's fault. It used to be all those fruit cakes out in California. But that wasn't true then and it's not true now. It's us.

It's not the mayor's fault. It's our fault. We're too busy. We're tapped out. We're conceptualizing the next big thing. Well the next big thing is America's slide into the gutter and down the drain.

Drug lords are everywhere

 I told one woman you need to stay away from Mexico it's infested with drug lords. She gave me the look and replied drug lords are everywhere.

Scenes I'd like to see

 on the steps of Capitol Buildings all over the country Mexican Americans protesting the lack of a wall along our Southern border. They're carrying big signs that say, Build That Wall Build That Wall. Some signs say we know the dangers South of the Border Build That Wall. Protect our women and children from the invading hordes. Others read, Build That Wall or pay with your lives!

When confronted they Shout, our borders must be protected! Stamp Out the Invaders. Legal immigration only!

In typical fashion

 Well in typical fashion something that started out to be an Improvement has turned out almost worse. There's a spring loaded gate at the entrance to our community. The spring squeaked. After dousing it in oil the spring is now silent, but instead the gate closes more quickly. This causes it 2 slam behind you. Wouldn't it be great if there was a fix that just made everything better.

Wouldn't it be great if the gate closed silently smoothly and gently behind you latching with an almost silent but confident click? Yes, that would be great.

Tequila

Well this is awkward. I've drank tequila off and on over my whole lifetime, but I've come to a tough decision. It's time to stop drinking tequila. In fact a 1.75 liter bottle just went down the drain in my kitchen. That was a tough decision. What was it based on?

Well it turns out that 1 oz of tequila has an unusually powerful effect in my system. Maybe it's worth figuring out what's different about tequila than vodka, but probably won't spend the time to figure it out. Might involve some sort of scientific analysis which would require resources I'm not going to Marshall. After drinking tequila I wake up with dry mouth and sort of a weird hangover that isn't a headache, but rather fuzzy head. Old fuzzy head.

Tequila tastes great and feels pretty good going down. Still, our Heavenly father's overall plan needs to be respected. Maybe alcohol in general just isn't for you. Maybe it's wine beer or some other hard liquor. At 62 I'm looking at life a little different than I did 10 years ago. 10 years ago it was time to Double Down and get going with the tough. Today it's time to think about the end of the road and how to get there in the most respectful and obedient way.

Beer and wine have been somewhat continuous companions over the years. Vodka has a relatively subtle effect on me and I generally wake up feeling fine. Tequila's been one of those things that has been Revisited every few years briefly and then set aside. Reality is it probably should have been discontinued in college and left alone.

Tired of complicated recipes

When I used to hear the term marinating I thought ugh complicated and time-consuming. Well here's marinating at its simplest. Buy a pound of fresh salmon have them cut in half.

Buy some one quart freezer baggies. These are a little heavier Duty. Put each piece of salmon in a separate baggie. Pour in some soy sauce. Pour in some teriyaki sauce. Throw them in the fridge overnight.

The next day cook them in the oven. Cook them one at a time uncovered in an oven-safe skillet. 325 for 15 minutes. Then 2 minutes on broil. While you're eating one cook the other one. As you take each bite say man this is good eating.

Let the second one cool and put it in the fridge for the next day.

The next day eat the second one cold or pop it in the microwave.
